Kairali of Baltimore (KOB), serving the Indian American community in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. area since 1984, is set to celebrate Onam on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Howard High School, Ellicott City, MD.
The festivities will kick off with a grand delicious Onam Sadhya followed by a Maveli procession accompanied by traditional Chenda Melam. A highlight of the event will be a fashion show and a variety of cultural performances showcasing the rich heritage of Kerala. KOB has also organized a payasam tasting competition, adding a sweet twist to the celebration.
During the event, the popular KOB souvenir will be officially released. Additionally, members will present a cinematic drama based on the Mahabharata, portraying the timeless battle between jealousy and dharma, with a message that dharma ultimately triumphs over envy.
The KOB invites the community to join in celebrating this joyous occasion, which promises to be a vibrant display of culture and tradition.
